Oklahoma Baptist women's basketball has added Wichita State transfer
Samantha Smith to the 2009-10 roster.

Smith, a 6-3 post out of Bishop Miege High School in Shawnee, Kan., is
the daughter of former Bison standout Keith Smith, an All-Conference
selection in 1982.

Smith helped Bishop Miege to a state championship and signed with
Wichita State after averaging a double-double her junior season.

She played in all 31 games for Wichita State as a freshman, averaging
3.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game off the bench. Last year, she
played in only five games, averaging 1.2 point and one rebound per
game.

While in high school, Smith lettered for three seasons under coach
Terry English and earned three letters in volleyball and one in track.
She was a 2003 member of the Principal's Honor Roll at BMHS.

Smith is the fourth NCAA Division I transfer to sign with OBU for the
2009-10 season, joining former WSU teammate Val Siemens, Amy Pryor from
Oral Roberts and Gabriell Mattox from Texas State.
