Peru, NE-Peru State College Head Baseball Coach, Jason Cronin, has announced the signing of Omaha Bryan Centerfield and left-handed pitcher Tyler Croushorn.
This past spring Croushorn helped Bryan to a district championship and state playoff appearance. Tyler hit .424, scored 45 runs and stole 20 bases. In 120 plate appearances he struck out only 11 times.
On the mound he posted a 4-3 record with a 3.59 ERA. He struck out 42 in 39 innings of work while walking 19. Bryan opponents hit a mere .269 off the southpaw. For his efforts, Croushorn was named All-Nebraska Honorable Mention.
According to Coach Cronin, "Tyler is a very gifted young athlete with the potential to be a very good college baseball player. We feel that he will contribute with his bat, glove and arm to what is already a very solid returning group. What I am most excited about is the fact that he wants to be part of our baseball family. Several other colleges showed serious interest in Tyler and we are glad to have him joining us in Peru."
Tyler is son of Michael and Tricia Croushorn of Omaha, Nebraska.
