Oklahoma Baptist University softball has added a familiar face to its roster for the 2008-09 season with the addition of Shawnee High School left fielder Kelly Fink.

She is the daughter of OBU head softball coach Pam Fink and OBU sports information director Ray Fink.

Kelly Fink, who played two years for coach Todd Boyer’s Lady Wolves, also played one season at Bethel High School and was a member of the Lady Wildcats’ state champion slow-pitch team as a freshman

Madison, SD 11/10/2007 - The Dakota State University Softball program has received its’ first commit to the 2008-09 recruiting class. Leslie Neiman has signed a Letter of Intent and will join The Trojans next season.

Leslie, a native of Elkhorn Nebraska, is a member of the four time class “B” state championship team for the Antlers, and was selected to the All-Omaha area team, she recently was named first-team class “B”, while hitting .390 and driving in 32 runs.

Madison, SD 12/6/2007 - The Dakota State University softball program has received their second commitment for the 2008-09 season; Katie Christian from New Ulm, MN has signed a letter of intent to play for the Trojans next season.

Katie led her team to the Minnesota Class "A" state championship by striking out 14 batters in 18 innings of work while not allowing a single earned run during the tournament. On the season Katie was 18-1 with an earned run average of .73. Christian also recorded 106 strikeouts, 4 saves and threw 9 complete games including 4 shut outs this season. For her accomplishments Katie was selected to the All-Conference, All-State, and All-Tournament teams these honors where no surprise as Katie was named to the same teams in 2006 as a sophomore. During the past three season’s Katie has posted an impressive 46-6 record while logging 367 innings and an E.R.A. under 1.0.

Tekamah, NE 1/8/2007 – The Dakota State University softball program announces it’s fifth commitment to the 2009 recruiting class. Leigh Gramke from Tekamah-Herman High School in Tekamah NE. has signed a letter of intent declaring that she will play for the Trojans in 2009.

During her career at Tekamah-Herman Gramke has been an offensive force; she currently holds the school records for stolen bases in a season, homeruns in a season, homeruns in a career, highest batting average in a season and a career, she also holds the record for highest on base percentage in a season when she reached base safely 70 times in 34 games in 2005. Gramke has been named to the all-conference team three times, selected to the all-state team twice; she was also named to the Nebraska “Super-State” team in 2007 after hitting .419, scoring 38 runs, and pounding out 5 homeruns.
